I came up with this Christmas T-shirt design for men. In this article, I will tell you my thinking process behind the design.

The notion of "real men"

Traditional views of "real men" lean on narrow stereotypes, portraying masculinity as stoic and unfeeling. However, stoicism isn't about lacking emotions but managing them effectively. So there is a reason behind the madness.

The evolving narrative challenging these stereotypes, emphasizes that true strength lies in authenticity and self-assurance. This shift involves redefining masculinity to include emotional depth, empathy, and the freedom to express feelings without restraint. I think the expression of emotions of men should not be without restraint. If a man feels angry, you do not want him to express this emotion without restraint.

The expression of a man's emotion must be measured and controlled at all times, so it will be creative, effective, and not destructive.

The Essence of Christmas

Beyond the hype, Christmas embodies deep emotional connections and cherished traditions that bring us together.

It's a time where giving and shared experiences outweigh materialism, weaving a tapestry of belonging and continuity through festive rituals.

Christmas embraces everyone in its spirit of inclusivity, celebrating love, empathy, and unity beyond societal norms.

Its magic lies in touching hearts, fostering a sense of community and shared humanity that transcends boundaries.

Even I as a man subscribe to this. The question I have is:

How do I express that I subscribe to this in an effective, creative, non-destructive way?

 If I go all wishy-washy, then I can assure you my wife and daughters will not like it. They have an inherent sense that if I let my positive emotions run uncontrolled, I might also do this with any negative emotions I may have. So, I need to control my emotions for them to feel comfortable with me.

So, again: How do I express my love for Christmas in a way that doesn't make them feel uncomfortable?
